MacKenzie Duncan W.E. Rock 2017 Congress AZ
MacKenzie Duncan
Renegade Rocksports driver MacKenzie Duncan, 18, of Redwood Valley is competing in the 2017 W.E. Rock Western Rock Crawling series. Round one of W.E.Rock was held in Congress, AZ on March 4 and 5. Mackenzie and her spotter finished in 14th place out of a 29 car field.
W.E. Rock is a rock crawl event where she maneuvers her buggy over challenging rock courses with obstacles marked with cones that are placed throughout the course. Penalty points are assessed for hitting cones, using reverse, crossing course boundary lines, and for timing out. Each course has a time limit of 10 minutes for the drives to complete them.
MacKenzie’s first day of the competition with the Fowler Auto Center buggy was also her first competition. The courses were difficult and the competition was stiff. MacKenzie kept her cool all day with her smooth driving style!
Day two was another successful day and extremely challenging for all drivers. As her confidence grew she ended the day of competition taking the more difficult bonus obstacles. She said “My dad, Scott Duncan, was my spotter. I have complete trust in him that he will put me and the car in the right lines in order to be safe and successful. I am very excited to be a part of such a great sport. I can’t wait for the next competition in May.”
She would also like to thank her sponsors for supporting her: Fowler Auto Center, Redwood Empire RVs, Liv Fashion Boutique, Jodi Szupello-Todd, Relentless Motorsports, Urban Stitcher, DH Designs, The Law Office of Duncan M James and her Papa.
